About the job

The successful candidate is an expert in cell-based assay development and application and will have an integral role in the planning and conduct of experiments that support Ambagon’s drug discovery efforts including, but not limited to:  

  • Designing and executing biological studies as starting points for the development of future compound profiling assays. 

  • Being responsible for the validation, implementation and interpretation of data from cell-based assays for the profiling of our molecular glues. 

  • Supporting project leaders in the validation of newly synthesized compounds and the design of relevant assays. 

  • Maintaining accurate and well-organized laboratory records, worksheets and notebooks. 

Job requirements

  • Having completed a PhD in Molecular or Cellular Biology, postdoctoral experience is a plus, with related experience in cancer research or drug discovery.  

  • Being an expert in mammalian cell culture and several molecular biology techniques, such as; transfection, viral transduction, RT-qPCR, gene knockout/knock-in/stable cell line generation, IP / ChIP, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, cellular assays (viability/toxicity/proliferation). 

  • Having experience with drug target identification and validation is a plus. 

  • Having excellent project management skills, including prioritisation, time management and progressing research projects. 

  • Understanding of the drug discovery process with a major focus on small molecule research. 

  • Being proficient in analysing complex data sets resulting from diverse research disciplines. 

  • Being a proactive team player who can multitask and builds relationships easily. 

  • Having excellent communication skills and being fluent in English. 

  • Having a problem-solving, creative and flexible mindset.
